A new year begins with a new round of fresh
animes. I'd like to take this time to point out one of them - Sora no
Woto. Though the animation style resembles that of K-ON!, as well as a
few of the characters, the tone of Sora no Woto is far from the
carefree J-pop tunes and school life of Afterschool
Teatime.
The entire production of the first episode alone reflects the quality of an animated film. Both the characters and story of Sora
no Woto have caught my attention this year and well retain it until the
end. Here's hoping that the conclusion doesn't end up to be a massive
flop.
"The story takes place in an imaginary town, Seize (the cities are
modeled after Cuenca and Alarcón, the Fortress in Spain). A long war brings a gradual
decline to the world. People disappear from the town and fishes cease
to exist in the sea. In this quiet world, five girls guard a fortress
and play brass vividly."
